April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month. We are always looking to teach people more. This year for Sexual Assault we are talking about consent.

It is a common misconception that consent is just about sexual actions. Consent is also "Can I hold your hand?" and "Can I hug you?" While this may not seem important asking before you do something can make them feel more comfortable and let them know you respect them, their bodies, and their choices.

​We know it can be hard to talk to your teen about consent but the change can start with them. It is also important to communicate with your partner what you are comfortable with in the relationship.
