2024 Shelter Expansion
Our building expansion project is on the horizon, with construction set to be completed by the end of 2024. The good news is that 90% of the construction costs are already secured through a forgivable loan from the South Dakota Housing HOME-ARP funds. This funding ensures the physical expansion of our shelter, which currently includes four bed & bath units with a shared living space and kitchen area. The expansion provides a cozy and private intake area, office space where clients can meet privately with advocates, and the addition of four non-congregate rooms, each comparable to a small efficiency apartment with a private bath and kitchenette, offering survivors a sense of independence and security. There is a critical aspect of this project where we need your help—room appliances, furniture, fixtures, bedding, bathroom essentials, kitchen utensils, and eating ware. This is where your support can have a profound impact. Your generosity can transform these residential units from mere structures into warm, welcoming, and comforting spaces where survivors can find solace and healing for decades to come.
